This week was mainly based on our progress with Project 2. At this stage, the majority of others in my class were at a similar stage to me of finalising their essay and beginning to sketch/digitalise. I was glad that we focused heavily on this during our session, as although I am confident enough with my essay and progress, I always value feedback.
At this point, I have pretty much finished my essay. Therefore, I didn’t need much advice on how to expand or write. I feel that I was able to finish my essay rather quickly and effectively as I gained much experience with essay writing during my A-Levels.
To be fully open, at this point my sketches weren’t very neat and organised. I had quite a few for the home page, however not that many variations for the others. I was reassured that my sketches were fine and didn’t need to be super detailed, as long as they captured the design that I had in mind.
I also received valuable feedback on my Figma progress. At this point, I has began to create rough concept designs for the first page of my specimen app. I was torn between two designs, so was grateful to have a second opinion to help me with this. My first design used the colours and designs of a Música Viva poster, while my second design involved using a grid. Based on the feedback I received, I leaned towards the grid based design as I feel that this reflects Brockman's style in a more recognisable way and aligns more with the minimalist style associated with him.

Week 10 was mainly based on working on our project 2, so I don’t have much learning content to note in my weekly blog. However, this doesn't mean that the content wasn’t valuable. In fact, I received excellent feedback on my project 2, which had greatly helped me move forwards and make much more progress than I was previously.
One valuable thing that I leant this week was the improtance of getting an external opinion on designs. When you’re looking at your own project for so long, it becomes difficult to understand how someone who has never seen it before would interpret it and also becomes quite easy to be too harsh on it. Stepping back and getting feedback is valuable for both of these reasons, and I found that it really helped me to take a step back and progress with a refreshed mind.
