This week, we had a group critique. I was quire nervous going into this as I wasn’t super confident with my brand and know there would likely be some negative feedback. However, in design criticisms are equally, if not more, valuable than polkas as it gives strong directions as to improvements that can be made.

The feedback that I reviewed during the critique was very valuable as to what I could improve. There were quite a few points of focus pointed out to me, which will help me moving forwards. These included:

• More justifications for why I chose my brand name.
• More focus on environments and physical spaces: I jumped into digital apps and advertisements too fast.
• Reconsider my colour scheme.
• The book logo is effective, but she negative space on the pages masa make the O lettering more obvious

Week 7 Reflection

Although we didn’t have any learning content this week, I still feel that it’s important to reflect on it. Although it’s always difficult to hear constructive criticisms in critiques, I do feel that the feedback that I. received will help me to improve my project and create a much stronger sub-brand. Most of the areas of improvement pointed out to me were ones that I wasn’t confident in, so I’m grateful to have a better sense of how to move forwards with these.
